Dear Platt Park Church,
Wow! As we step into 2026 together, our hearts are full of gratitude for God’s goodness and for each of you! Your faithful partnership in prayer, presence, and generous giving made 2025 a year of growth, compassion, and deep community — and we are grateful for all that God has done among us.
Thank You for Your Generosity
Because of your faithful giving, Platt Park Church was able to live generously and faithfully throughout 2025 — supporting ministry both within our walls and extending care outside of them. As a community, we practice generosity by continually committing to give outwardly at least 10% of all income, trusting that everything we have belongs first to God. In 2025 that commitment translated into just over $74,000 shared with people and partners beyond our congregation — what a beautiful and meaningful expression of trust in God’s provision and spreading love in the world!
We are especially grateful for the strong response to the Christmas Offering, which exceeded our goal! We are also thankful to share that we finished 2025 with a fully funded budget, placing us in a healthy position as we move into the year ahead and allowing us to begin setting aside funds toward an important and necessary capital project — the replacement of our church roof.
Caring for Our Building
As many of you know, our building continues to age alongside us, and we currently have several active roof leaks, most notably in the parlor and preschool areas. We are actively gathering bids from licensed Denver roofing companies, and our Elder Board hopes to make a decision about which company to move forward with in the coming weeks. Once a contract is finalized, we will share more details with the congregation, including the remaining amount we will need to raise to complete the project. We are grateful that your faithful giving has already positioned us to take these next steps with wisdom and care.
Celebrating Life and Growth Together
What a joy it has been to see growth across our church family this year!
- Our Kids and Youth Ministries have flourished as children and youth gather each week to learn about Jesus, build friendships, and grow in faith — from Preschool through High School. Every area of these ministries is growing, and we are deeply thankful for those who volunteer with Preschool & Kindergarten and Kids Club. We truly couldn’t do it without you!
- A team of nine students from our High School Youth Group traveled to Champfleuri, France, last summer to serve at a camp for French teenagers. Thank you for all the croissants and hot cocoa you consumed — and the flocks of flamingos you purchased — to help support their trip!
- Our worship services are full, engaged, and joyful. The Teaching Team is entering its third year, and it continues to be a gift to hear from diverse voices and experiences of walking with God.
- Serving teams gave generously of their time at Denver Rescue Mission, rang bells for the Salvation Army during Christmastime, created boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and supported refugee families throughout the year.
- We continued to support our brothers and sisters who are new to our country and city as they establish themselves in a new place, often amid significant challenges.
- We celebrated our volunteers with a church-wide Volunteer Appreciation Party at Belleview Park — a joyful reminder that more than half of our Sunday congregation serves in some capacity within the church.
- And finally, we are profoundly grateful for the answered prayers that brought James Johnson as our new Lead Pastor this year. His arrival has felt deeply God-ordained, and his leadership — rooted in joy, prayer, and a heart for community — has already been a tremendous gift to our church.
A Snapshot of Our Shared Stewardship
The chart included here offers a glimpse of how our shared generosity was stewarded in 2025:
- The largest portion of our resources supported Worship & Community (Sunday worship, pastoral care, teaching, communications, & community events)
- Nearly one-third was shared between Children & Youth and Serving & Ministry Relationships (Benevolence, local and denominational partners, serving initiatives)
- We invested thoughtfully in caring for our building and maintaining the systems needed for healthy, sustainable ministry.

Looking Ahead
We begin 2026 with confidence in God’s provision and excitement for what He will continue to do through this generous community. You are making an eternal impact — not only within these walls, but in the lives of people throughout Denver and far beyond. Your giving is more than financial; it is an expression of trust in God and love for others.
Thank you for giving, serving, praying, and worshiping with us. We are honored to walk alongside you as we follow Jesus together — loving God, loving others, and spreading love in His unfolding Kingdom.
With gratitude and hope,
Platt Park Church Leadership & Elder Board
